What mapping the hundreds of versions of every human protein could do for drug and diagnostic development, and what’s getting in the way

In 2013, we coined the term proteoform—laying the groundwork for what is set to become the next big step after the Human Genome Project. Through the Consortium for Top-Down Proteomics we’re building awareness about the Human Proteoform Project, most recently at a Biocentury event, where the talented Danielle Golovin, Ph.D. came up with this awesome image to highlight The Proteoform: https://lnkd.in/gFAU46zs (Full article here).

“From about 20,300 human genes, there are millions of different proteoforms.”
